Bismillahi ar-rahman ar-rahim…

It is now half way through the easter holidays here in Auckland, New Zealand. Very interesting. So to make it a bit more interesting, I joined an excursion/trip to Cape Reinga, the Northen-most point in lil’ ol’ Aotearoa… We left at about 3am on Wednesday 19th April from the Q ApartmentP1012995
complex (that’s where I live) in a convoy of 5 vans; 4 Hiace’s and 1 Esteema, ya, toyota decided to sponsor us. No, they didn’t. So there were 43 of us, if I’m not mistaken, 50/50 brothers:sisters. Nothing very interesting here, I was just sitting in the front seat with Azmir, my flatmate’s senior, while the rest were sisters. So what was I to do? You guessed it…Zzzzz….

So I woke up at 5 for Subuh, at some place called, at some place called…….ok it was at a petrol station in the middle of nowhere…it was freezing… you should see the mist that we were travelling in! Visibility was probably only 10-15 metres…Ooo dangerous…

P1013018Then I woke up again at around 7ish when the convoy made another pit stop in some place, I think it has a name, nope, I can’t find it….woke up again at Dscn0797some place (this is ridiculous, i don’t know where i’ve been the past few days!), where we had to do a ferry crossing. Then after that i couldn’t sleep anymore, because it was my turn to drive! horray! Driving a van full of people whom I mostly don’t know up a winding country road in the Northlands…I must say, it was a bit nerve-wracking, mainly coz nih anak dara orang that i’m bringing, haha, and without a proper NZ driving licence, HAHAHA!! but we made it back in 1 piece, so i guess it was ok…funny how the feeling of tiredness suddenl dissapeDscn0804ars when u get behind the steering wheel (maybe it’s just because driving is stil a new experience, semangat lagi la katakan…).

So after some time, we arrived at…somewhere…though i could say that it was in the Sahara and you might still believe me…Img_5144might…oh by the way, SAND BOARDING IS SO COOL!!! but you have been warned, bring lots of water and something to drink, i mean eat…the sand dunes were somewhere like 4 storeys high, and climbing up sand dunes is NOT like climbing up concrete stairs…no…you become pancit just after climbing up 2/3 times…and you can’t cheat by going just half-way…it beats the purpose of sand boarding…SPEED…muwahahaha!!!! oh yeah, if you have one, it’s a good idea to wear goggles…might look silly, but at least your eyes don’t get filled with sand, like me, who was dumb enough to do a few lagak ngeri and ’superman’ down the slope…sand DOES Not taste good…well, it doesn’t taste like anything much, but it doesn’t…taste…good….

then it was off to the Cape Reinga, THE MOST NORTHERN POINT OF NEW ZEALAND…WOW…serious, the scenery was just beautiful, like in coromandel (oh i havent posted that yet…), and in Christchurch, and in Dunedin, and in Rotorua, oh and everywhere, New Zealand is just beautiful countryside…breathtaking…Dscn0876
lots of great snapshot moments…i need a camera…not just any camera, but a real canggih one…Dscn0857_1that’s it for day 1, we left for that holiday park after asar (nearly maghrib) to catch some sleep…

DAY 2: Paihia and Poo
I think better sambung tomorrow…my assignment is getting dusty,

sekian, wassalam…
